daily in the morning, depending on the weather and number of passengers.
Guests are collected at their hotel and taken through the park to rendezvous
with the balloon crew. Flights are approximately an hour's duration and
on landing sparkling wine is served. A leisurely game drive is then taken
through the park to a game lodge where breakfast is served, after which
guests are returned to their hotel.
Flights are
early in the morning and you need to allow some 4 hours for the full activity
which includes the following:

collection from your hotel by safari vehicle.

balloon from the centre of the park.

An hour drifting
serenely over the park.

A sparkling wine
celebration on landing, a time-honoured tradition in ballooning.

A Full English
breakfast at a Private Game Lodge.

A First Flight
certificate signed by your Pilot.

Return transfer
to your hotel.

Balloon
Safari only R3 750pp:
Get picked up at Sun City or any Lodge or Resort,
4h00 in summer, 5h00 in winter.
You enter the Park 1 hour before normal opening
time.
Balloon gets set up next to Mankwe dam and you
ascend just before sunrise.
Flight last about 1 hour after which you have
some sparkling wine.
You then return to Bakubung for a full English
breakfast.
Note that this rate is applicable for departures from Sun City & Pilanesberg
only
Children policy: They
are welcome at the same rate but they have to be 1,2 m tall - 4 Ft!!
If 4 and over they will be able to go along on
the support vehicle with the guide following the balloon at R400 or a bit
more each, subject to them behaving and obeying the guide re safety issues.
Under 4 unfortunately no go.
Balloon Safari
only from Johannesburg or Pretoria:
I have no problems departing Jo'burg at 1h30 or Pretoria at 2h00 so you can
make the gate at 4h00( 1 hour later in winter), but lets be realistic. Sometimes
the balolon just don't take off, so it's pretty important to sleep near the
Park I've had clients at Sun City with 2 alternate dates, so 3 days in a row.
They got up twice at 3h30, went in, did the whole drive thing, got to the
site only for the wind to be too dangerous for take off. They canvcelled the
3rd date then, as they were pretty bushed, only for the balloon to take off
that day!
I return after you had breakfast, so 10h30 to be back at Pretoria at 12h30
or Jo'burg at 13h00, but as above, you could do the drive fior nothing.
My rate for this is R3000 return transfer from Pretoria or Jo'burg, subject
to booking the balloon safari through me. If you want to add Sun City, then
this will increase. For just a normal transfer use my normal rates - Pta &
Jo'burg R1750 one way.

I will be flexible with times but not with rates. Breakfast included if you
want to do it with the balloon group - you will lose out on game viewing though,
so rather skip it & do the next morning with me right from the start.
