Intercity Buses

All major buses stop in Pretoria as well as in Johannesburg. The two cities are only 45 minutes apart and it takes you less than half an hour from Johannesburg International Airport to Pretoria !

Buses - Intercity Buses - City to City
This is not really used by backpackers. They go just about everywhere to the non-travelled destinations like mines etc. Mostly used by locals.

Buses - Intercity Buses - Greyhound
This is one of the 3 major bus companies in South Africa. They also run in Zimbabwe as Blue Arrow. They go everywhere on the main routes except Upington.

Buses - Intercity Buses - Translux
Probably the most popular of the intercity buses as they are normally about R 10 or so cheaper. Runs to  Bulawayo, Harare, Lusaka, and Maputo as well but not to Upington. They currently offer transport between Pretoria and Jo'burg for R 30 only on standby. Does not run to Vic Falls anymore!`
